Safety and Connection
A strong ward is built on strong communities. Safety doesn’t start with crisis response it starts with prevention, connection, and support. Community leagues, local organizations, and grassroots groups already do incredible work keeping people engaged and supported. City Hall needs to be a better partner in strengthening these efforts.
I will invest in the programs and spaces that build connection, reduce risk, and ensure every resident feels safe and supported in Ward pihêsiwin.
My Commitments on Community
- Stronger support for community leagues and local groups: Provide resources, partnerships, and recognition so they can keep delivering the programs and events that bring neighbours together.
- Invest in youth programming: Expand opportunities for young people to learn, lead, and connect, reducing risks and opening pathways to success.
- Wraparound services: Strengthen partnerships that deliver mental health, housing, and other supports, ensuring residents get help before problems become crises.
Safe and welcoming public spaces: Prioritize well-lit parks, safer sidewalks, trails, and community areas that foster belonging, encourage activity, and make everyone feel secure.
